Amsterdam's Red Light District: Boomsteeg

Update: Things are looking up for Boomsteeg. After 7 years of pretentious arty farty stuff during the day and a drunk's toilet during the night it is once again being transformed into a red light street. This is to make up for the six windows that closed in Bethlemsteeg on 1st Jan 2015 and part of Project 1012 that aims to reduce and confine the red light district to a smaller and more manageable area around the Oudezijds Achterburgwal canal.

Boomsteeg (Tree Street ?!?) in Amsterdam's red light district Holland. It runs between the Oude Achterburgwal canal and Zeedijk This was once a busy little red light street. There were windows on the left as well as ones downstairs on the right. Like many others they were previously shut in 2007/8 after BIBOB procedures failed but the owners were forced to sell up anyway.
In 2014 they look pretty much the same except that some have been used for some kind of crappy art /fashion.
Photo taken around 2010.
This is an embedded image of Boomsteeg taken in 1980 from the Zeedijk end.
