Amsterdam's Red Light District: Oudekerksplein

Oudekerksplein, Amsterdam red light district (De Wallen / Walletjes / De Rosse Buurt)
The remaining windows in the area of Oudekerksplein where it meets the Oudezijds Voorburgwal canal. Up until 2007 there were another 4 where Quartier Putain is today (see 2nd picture below). For 5 years or so the building stood unused. Then in 2013 this new cafe opened as part of Project 1012.
Photo taken October 2013.

Oudezijds Voorburgwal, Amsterdam (January 2010)
This is one my favourite photos of Amsterdam. I took it in January 2010 when Amsterdam was in the middle of one of it's coldest winters on record. It looks across the Oudezijdes Voorburgwal canal at the red light windows in Oudekerksplein.

You can view a very old photo of oudekerksplein 2 before it was windows here.
